Design and Features
The Swan Outdoor measures 2.2 by 1.7 by 1.3 inches (HWD) and has a white enclosure with a black camera face. The enclosure has an IP66 weather rating that offers a high level of resistance against water and dust. Installation and Performance
The Swan Outdoor Camera is easy to set up. I installed it in my backyard using the included mounting template and mounting screws and was able to snake the power cable through a vent in my attic wherever it was autique. If there is no way to power the cable in your home, you will need to drill a hole as the AC adapter is not intended for outdoor use.
Once the camera was powered on I downloaded the mobile app, created an account and verified the account via email. I tapped the pair camera button on the app, selected the Swan Outdoor camera from the list, and followed the on-screen instructions for connecting to the camera using my phone’s Wi-Fi settings. The Swan Outdoor Camera provided sharp 1080p video on my tests. The daytime video appeared bright with rich colors and the black-and-white video showed good luminosity and strong contrast. There were hints of barrel distortion around the edges.
Push alerts quickly appeared when the motion sensor was triggered, such as video recorded that looked pretty good like a live feed. I had no problem connecting my Swan account to my Alexa account and watching the video on a TV using an Amazon Fire TV stick.
